This fall, as beer lovers from all over converge on Denver for the annual (world famous, we think-but we're biased) Great American Beer Festival (locally known as GABF), we figured we would offer up some expert knowledge about chocolate— and beer.Beer and chocolate pairings are starting to brew up everywhere, and who wouldn’t love match-ups between two delicious decadences? And since we dabble in the beer world every once in a while...
Here is our guide to pairing GABF beers with a few local favorites from Chocolate Crisis Center:
Pairs well with IPA's and the stronger Belgian-style beers (think dubbels & trippels).
Pairs well with golden Belgian ales.
Pairs well with nut-brown, or scotch-style ales.
Pairs well with stouts and porters.
Pairs well with imperials and dark beers.
Pairs well with German-style dunkels.
Pairs well with porters or stouts.
Pairs well with pilsners.
Don't have tickets to GABF? Stop in our store this Friday between 6 and 9pm, and you can sample (for free) some of these very pairings— while supplies last!Get your selfies on in Denver’s best photo booth (capacity 12) with Dr. Ernst Angst live (more or less) and in person. That starts at six, too. See you next Friday!
